I’ve raved about Jimbo’s crochet hooks. I swear to you I’m not over exaggerating.

Jimbo, in addition to being a talented woodworker, is a generous soul. He has donated hooks for the Traveling Hook projects (see buttons at left). He is making hooks out of bamboo chopsticks (chophooks) and will send you one for a minimum $10 donation for Friedreich’s Ataxia research.

As part of a March challenge to make squares for cancer research, he donated a hook for a drawing. That drawing was last week and MY NAME WAS PICKED.

Well, today in the mail was that gorgeous hook. Crafted of padauk wood. Here it is and, as you can see, I couldn’t wait to start a new project with hit.

I am sure even if you don’t crochet you can appreciate the beauty of this hook. But, if you do crochet, believe me when I tell you it is magical in your hand as the yarn glides over it. It’s a bit heavier than the silver maple hook I posted about here.

Thanks Jimbo.

On another note, I made more progress (about 15 rows) on the Army ghan
